Palmette by 1838 Wallcovereings is a magnificent design of vibrant tropical flora and lush greenery has been beautifully reworked from an original carpet design, held in the archives of the V&A in South Kensington. Crafted by textile designer George Kingman in Kidderminster—a historic hub of British carpet production—this pattern embodies a rich tradition dating back to the 1730s. Kingman’s work, characterised by rich colours, intricate patterns and an eclectic blend of inspiration from history, art and nature, continues to resonate in contemporary design, creating a dynamic celebration of maximalism.
